  • Jerry D. Hollingsworth, Ed.D., joined ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç as Superintendent of Schools on January 1, 2025. A lifelong educator and advocate for public education, he has a proven track record as a collaborative leader focused on building cultures that prioritize student growth and achievement, support staff resources and well-being, provide opportunities for family engagement, and nurture positive relationships within the community.  

     

    Dr. Hollingsworth, known within the school community as “Dr. H,” previously served as superintendent in Waxahachie ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç. During his tenure, he led key initiatives to define the district’s strategic focus and core values, plan and prepare for student enrollment growth, align instructional best practices and professional development, and strengthen collaborative teams across district programs for the benefit of students and staff. Prior to Waxahachie, Hollingsworth served as superintendent in Bandera ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç.  

     

    Hollingsworth believes the education of children is the most important profession for the future of our world. As a superintendent, he is known for student-centered decision making, strong relationships, transparent spoken and written communication, and the development of strong organizational systems. He supports robust professional learning communities to empower principals and teachers, so that they are fully equipped to best support the academic goals and well-being of students in today’s ever-changing society. 

     

    A graduate of nearby Boyd High School, Hollingsworth holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and earned his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of North Texas. His service in public education began teaching US Government and Spanish in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç. During his 31-year career, he has led three high-achieving campuses as principal – Grapevine High School, Stephenville High School, and Dawson Middle School in Carroll ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç; and served as assistant principal at the middle and high school levels. He also has extensive leadership experience at the district executive level, serving as an associate superintendent in Burleson ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç from 2014-2018 and as executive director of instructional leadership in Grapevine-Colleyville ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç from 2011-2014. 

     

    Hollingsworth also believes strongly in giving back to the local community, participating as a member of the Rotary Club as well as serving as a board member on the local Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the TASA Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership Network, with which he also serves as a member of the Leadership Network’s Design Team. 

     

    Hollingsworth and his wife of 29 years, Ginger, have three sons:  Wyatt and his wife, Talyn, both recent graduates of Texas Tech University; Lane, also a graduate of Texas Tech; and Clayton, who is a high school junior and now attending EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç. He and Ginger also are proud grandparents of baby Quinn, born in January 2025. In addition to adoring their first granddaughter, they enjoy attending their local church, spending time together as a family, exploring outdoors, traveling, and cheering on the TCU Frogs!
